Floodplain Management Training
FLOOD LOSS REDUCTION WORKSHOPS offer floodplain management officials an opportunity to increase their awareness and knowledge of National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) topics. The workshops focus on assisting local officials with understanding floodplain management concepts and specific NFIP participation responsibilities. Workshop participants will be provided an opportunity to work in small groups through a hands-on exercise simulating development review and permit issuance for a proposed development in a special flood hazard area. The OHIO FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION OF OHIO (OFMA is a subdivision of WMAO) provides a forum for floodplain management issues. OFMA membership is included with WMAO membership.
