Residents of Fostoria, Bettsville, and other nearby communities in Seneca County felt a small earthquake at 5:13 p.m. EST on February 25, 2010. Many people described a booming sound followed by brief shaking. Small earthquakes occurred in Seneca County in 1936 and 1961.
