PLT Facilitator Resources
Welcome Facilitators! On this page, you will find links to all of the supporting documents that you need to successfully hold a workshop. If you have any questions about any of the material, or just general questions about the workshop process, please contact the PLT-Ohio Coordinator at 614.265.6675 or program intern at 614.265.6701 or email email@example.com. Be sure that you are registered onto the Ohio PLT Facilitator group on Google Groups and the national PLT site. Also please sign up for the PLT On-Line Community. Encourage other educators and your workshop participants to tap these resources at www.plt.org. This includes reading and multi-media connections, The BRANCH newsletter, activity supports, on-line modules, student pages, etc. As always, thank you for your valuable time and efforts!
Facilitator Handbook (.pdf)
This handbook was created by the national PLT offices and individualized for Ohio. Take a look for suggestions on holding workshops, sample documents, and workshop protocol. It has ideas for planning for and managing a workshop. It was revised in 2009, and some more current documents are shown below. This Handbook also includes PLT’s history for your reference. (Note: This document is over one hundred pages and therefore we do not recommend printing it).
PLT-Ohio Brochure Insert (.pdf)
This brochure insert provides an overview of the PLT-Ohio program and has the State Coordinator’s information provided on the back. This is a good resource to pass along to those who are interested in learning more about PLT-Ohio.
Getting Ready for a Workshop
Workshop Proposal Form (.doc)
Workshop Proposal Form (.pdf)
To begin the process of hosting a workshop, just fill out a copy of this form and send it to the PLT-Ohio office at least 3-4 weeks in advance of your scheduled workshop. As a good note of caution, please turn in a proposal as soon as you’re aware that a workshop could take place. This will also for PLT to ensure inventory of your requested materials and post the workshop on an on-line calendar for other interested parties.
Workshop Planning Timeline & Checklist (.pdf)
Use this checklist as a suggested outline to ensure that your workshop plans are moving forward in a timely fashion.
Marketing & Advertising Guide (.pdf)
promoting and advertising your local workshop is essential to providing a successful and well-attended event. This document provides some ideas that may be handy in marketing your event to the target audience. Also, feel free to be creative! PLT workshops can be done jointly with other “projects” or have a unique theme/title that fits your needs.
