Bio Blitz 2009
WHAT
All are invited to team up with scientists to conduct a 24 hour biological survey of these protected areas in Erie County. Discover nature by being a scientist for a day and learn how protecting biodiversity benefits Lake Erie and your community.
Scientists and naturalists will lead several hands-on programs for the public to assist with collection and identification of butterflies, small mammals, fish, snakes, turtles, plants, owls and other birds, snails, insects, and earthworms throughout the event, including hikes and a guided canoe tour.
Bio Blitz Learning Opportunities:
- Assist investigators with data collection
- Learn scientific collection techniques
- Enter, catalogue, and report data
