8 New Potentimetric Maps Added

  Potentiometric surface maps indicate the elevation and horizontal direction of ground water flow.
The new counties are: 

• Allen (Bedrock and Unconsolidated)
• Delaware (Bedrock)
• Henry (Bedrock and Unconsolidated)
• Miami (Bedrock)
• Ottawa (Bedrock)
• Putnam (Bedrock)

Ashland Pollution Potential Map Added

  The DRASTIC mapping system is a combination of hydrogeologic factors, anthropogenic influences, ground water movement, and sources of contamination to assign a pollution potential scale to an aquifer as a measure of it's susceptibility to contamination.

National Ground Water Awareness Week

  Ground Water Awareness Week is sponsored by the National Ground Water Association and it's supporters. The goal of this week is to highlight the importance of maintaining private water well systems and the ground water resource that supply them.

Ohio forms advisory board for Great Lakes Compact.

 Ohio becomes the 38th state to join CoCoRaHS.

CoCoRaHS is an expanding volunteer network of citizens, orginized by the National Weather Service, who measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow) in their local communities.

Great Lakes Compact Becomes Law

On Friday, October 3, 2008,  President Bush signed into law S.J.Res. 45, the "Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact," which provides approval for an interstate compact to protect the water resources of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin.
