GOALS:

• Improve, maintain and build sustainable infrastructure
• Reduce the backlog of needed facility repairs and upgrades delayed by funding constraints
• Prioritize investments in facilities, infrastructure and equipment based on health and safety, return on investment, and visitor needs

OBJECTIVES:

• Use energy efficient and environmentally friendly products and practices
• Develop facilities with multiple uses, such as shared offices, maintenance and storage areas, to increase operational efficiency
• Continue efforts to offer facilities that meet ADA guidelines
• Develop a process to evaluate facilities regarding the benefits of repair, replacement, temporary closure, removal or placement in reserve for future use
• Review infrastructure development with friends groups, partners and other stakeholders and seek commitment for ongoing operation and maintenance funding
• Consider the impact on maintenance and operating costs with new or improved facilities
• Establish funds for emergencies and special projects that address critical needs (with special consideration for projects that feature partnerships, matching grants, energy efficiency and technology)
• Continue to make needed upgrades and repairs to water and wastewater treatment systems and infrastructure, and connect to municipal water systems where feasible
• Stay current with departmental dam safety initiatives
