You can always count on a warm reception at Geneva, and now that there is a new cell phone tower, you can count on better phone reception too.
In addition to better communications, Geneva has made park improvements in cooperation with Ashtabula County for better transportation for bicyclists and pedestrians. A new paved trail connects the lodge, cottage and campground areas, making it safer and easier to bike, walk and roll to the park’s overnight facilities, as well as the marina and the nearby village of Geneva-on-the-Lake.
Upgrades have been completed at two of Pymatuning’s popular boating facilities, the Cabin Beach launch ramp and the Birches launch ramp. Phase two of improvements at East Fork’s launch ramps include an accessible walkway at the Reisinger Road ramp, and a new roof at the campground ramp.
Work is underway on improvements to the marinas at Delaware, Hueston Woods and Paint Creek. More to come on these exciting developments in the 2010 boating season!
The wastewater treatment plant at Kelleys Island has gotten an overhaul, with wastewater system upgrades and a new lab building with equipment and chemical storage. At Mosquito Lake, the sewer system at the campground has been connected to county sewer service. More water works and wastewater plant improvements are in the works at Middle Bass Island, Nelson Kennedy Ledges and Punderson.
The indoor pool at the Maumee Bay resort lodge has been outfitted with a splash pool and waterfall for youngsters. In addition, a soft play space for tots has been added nearby, so the whole family can have a blast, and parents can keep a watchful eye on all the kids.
