Miami & Erie Canal Towpath is part of major trail systems:
Miami & Erie Trail - 40 mile trail runs from Delphos to Loramie Creek and was the first state recreational trail designated under the Ohio Trails Act
Buckeye Trail, signified by the blue blazes, is the longest loop hiking trail in the United States (1,200 miles) • The trail, which circles Ohio, is maintained by the Buckeye Trail Association
The towpath is also a certified section of the national North Country Scenic Trail, a 4,000 mile trail that stretches from New York to Minnesota
