A small earthquake occurred on April 23 at 9:09 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time beneath western Lake Erie about seven miles northwest of North Bass Island. A magnitude 2.5 earthquake occurred in this general area on April 12, 2007. The Geological Survey of Canada recorded microearthquakes in this approximate location at their station on Pelee Island on April 15 and two on April 17. No felt reports were received for any of these events.
