Apply Now for Ohio State Parks Boat Dock Lottery

COLUMBUS, OH -- Boat owners wishing to rent public boat docks at Ohio state park lakes for the 1998 season must apply by August 29, 1997 for lottery drawings used to select renters for available docks. Application forms are now available for the special lotteries, held each September by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Recreation as the fairest way to allocate its popular state park dock facilities.
Lottery drawings will be held for boat docks at Alum Creek, Buck Creek, Buckeye Lake, Cleveland Lakefront, Deer Creek, Delaware, Dillon, Grand Lake St. Marys, Lake Milton, Mosquito Lake, Paint Creek, Rocky Fork, Salt Fork (Sugartree Marina) or West Branch state parks.
Application forms for the lottery drawings are available at state park offices or by mail. Completed applications may be submitted in person or sent to the park office by certified mail, return receipt. All applications must be received by the respective park offices by 5 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 1997. The lottery drawings will be held in September.
To be eligible for the lottery drawings, the applicant must be able to submit proof that the boat is currently owned or leased by the applicant at the time of application. Boats titled to dealerships are not eligible. Winners of the lottery are entitled to renewal privileges for up to five years. For specific details on application procedures for one or more docks, or to find out the maximum size boat that a specific marina can accommodate, contact the respective park offices.
