ODNR ANNOUNCES 19 RECIPIENTS OF WILD SCHOOL SITES GRANTS
COLUMBUS, OH - Nineteen grants of $500 each have been awarded to schools, libraries, and daycare centers across Ohio to create wildlife habitat improvement projects on their grounds, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. These WILD School Sites can be used to teach science, math, English, history, art, and many other subjects.
"We are always hoping to see quality projects submitted, and that’s exactly what we get," said Jen Dennison, wildlife education coordinator for the division. "It's exciting to see the level of student involvement and how well wildlife habitat improvement projects mesh with today’s school curriculum."
ODNR accepts applications for WILD School Sites grants from January 1 through May 31 each year. Grant applications are available on the ODNR Division of Wildlife’s web page at ohiodnr.com during the application period. For more information about the WILD School Sites grants or to receive information on WILD School Sites workshops, call 1-800-WILDLIFE.
