The science education associations listed on this page have a variety of materials and programs available. Listing these associations does not constitute an endorsement by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources or the Division of Geological Survey. This list is by no means comprehensive.

Environmental Education Council of Ohio (EECO)—Organization for educators and others who are concerned about the environment. Offers lesson plans, teacher and grant-writing workshops, newsletter, and publications, including Guidelines for Success: Best Practices for Environmental Education [502.3 KB PDF]. Many other publications can be downloaded from EECO Web site.

National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT)—Publishes Journal of Geoscience Education.

National Earth Science Teachers Association (NESTA)—Publishes The Earth Scientist.

National Science Teachers Association (NSTA)—Publication offerings include science-education journals (Science and Children, Science Scope, The Science Teacher, and Journal of College Science Teaching); How to Teach with Topographic Maps, a 24-page booklet of activities and a topographic map to teach students in grades 5–8 how to read topographic maps; and interactive resources.
