A small earthquake occurred beneath Lake Erie on May 21, 2006 at 10:15 a.m. EDT about 6 miles offshore northwest of Mentor-on-the-Lake, Lake County. No felt reports have been received at this time. This location is the site of five small earthquakes so far in 2006. The largest in this sequence occurred on March 11 and had a magnitude of 3.0.
