Shademaster Honeylocust - Gleditsia triacanthos 'Shademaster'
South Euclid (Cleveland) Planted: 1955
1268 Plainfield Site: 7' Tree Lawn

1971 Comments:
This tree is faster growing but less uniform than other Gleditsia cultivars, and requires extensive pruning during the first six years of growth. It fits well in this tree lawn and has utility lines overhead, although there is no interference with the lines at the present time. The street is residential and appears very attractive because of the large trees on both sides.

1997 Comments:
These plants are in 7-foot tree lawns. There is a little sidewalk damage associated with these trees. The trees give an attractive canopy effect to the streetscape

Fifty-two percent of the overall planting survived (12 of 23 trees).
1997 data on the table are based on 5 trees.
