Dam Safety Engineering Program – Home & News

Dam and levee safety – protecting the public and maintaining critical infrastructure
Key Components
  • Inspect more than 1550 private and public dams every five  years
  • Issue reports, including areas of dam deficiency
  • Review and approve construction plans for new dams and levees or repairs to existing structures
  • Issue repair orders and take emergency actions to safeguard life, health and property
  • Provide technical and information assistance for dam and levee owners
