The Division of Geological Survey now offers regularly updated geographic information system (GIS) data for every oil and gas well in the state of Ohio. Available on CD-ROM, the PG-4 series provides GIS shape files for oil and gas well spots throughout the state, including location data, operator and lease information, total depth of each well, production type, well completion dates, initial production rates, deepest geologic formation reached, and whether or not a geophysical log is available.
PG-4 data sets offer information on thousands of wells and can be merged with users’ own data and mapping software to create custom well-spot maps and data sets. Based on the number of wells in each county, PG-4 data sets are updated quarterly and are available based on either individual counties or regions (groups or parts of counties). The index map below identifies the counties (in gray) and regions (in color).

Each data set is $25 and includes a base map and a well symbols legend. A discount is available for purchasing data sets for the entire state. Price excludes tax and shipping and handling charges; click below for complete ordering. For digital and print-on-demand oil and gas well-spot maps, see the PG-3 series.
