Ashtabula County has received $70,475 in Ohio Coastal Management Program Grants. This has allowed for projects totaling $132,150.

The plan will include an analysis of coastal resources, identification of priority development and conservation areas, and the development of a coastal portfolio to optimize growth. 2007 City of Geneva City of Geneva Comprehensive Plan $21,250 CMAG $42,500 A comprehensive plan will be developed that will indicate the location, character, extent, relationship and community intent for future land uses, redevelopment and environmental resources. The plan will serve as a guide for the city, local leaders and stakeholders in making informed decisions for the future of the city and Lake Erie. 2006 Saybrook Township Saybrook Township Comprehensive Plan $18,825 CMAG $37,650 A policy guide for government to help township officials and administrators, government agencies, organizations and private individuals make better decisions. The plan will indicate the location, character, extent, relationship and community intent for future land uses and circulation and will emphasize education of local government on the importance of protecting coastal areas and other environmentally sensitive areas within the township. 1999 City of Ashtabula Walnut Beach Nature Trail $15,000 GLCRG $30,000 Construct a self-guided nature trail over the Lake Erie beach dunes and the Ashtabula River's estuary wetlands that will include observation decks and walkways.. 1998 City of Ashtabula Walnut Beach Boardwalk $15,400 CMAG $22,000 Construct a fully accessible boardwalk to Lake Erie with an observation / seating area at Walnut Beach.
