Coastal Grant Statistics
Total dollars awarded from 1998 to 2010: $35,008,736
- The Ohio Coastal Management Program receives approximately $2 million annually from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
- This money is matched on a 1:1 basis with non-federal funds.
- Yearly, the ODNR Office of Coastal Management Awards approximately $1 million in grants to help carry out goals outlined in the Ohio Coastal Management Program.
- For all fiscal years:
- 69 percent of grants ($24,190,465) were awarded for projects in a coastal county.
- 6 percent of grants ($2,093,763) were awarded for projects in a specific county not adjacent to Lake Erie but in the watershed.
- 25 percent of grants ($8,724,507) were awarded for projects that benefit more than one county within the Lake Erie Watershed including those adjacent to Lake Erie and those inland.
