Mercer Wildlife Area is a good place to see birds. Go to the observation tower that is located on St. Rt. 703, 1/8 of a mile east from St. Rt. 127. The eagle nest is located at the Mercer Wildlife Area on the southwest corner of Grand Lake St. Marys. (Download Map)

Ohio River - Brown and Adams counties |
Sightings at the power plants along the Ohio River during the winter are not uncommon. Eagles can be observed along the Ohio River in Brown and Adams Counties from St. Rt. 52, which parallels the Ohio River. |
| Paint Creek – Highland County |
Sightings at Paint Creek Lake during the winter are not uncommon. The eagles can be observed from St. Rt. 753 or St. Rt. 138 bridges that cross the Paint Creek branch of Paint Creek Lake. |
| Brown County Rural Water Nest – Brown County |
This is Ohio ’s first eagle nest located on the Ohio River in modern times! The nest is located on Brown County Rural Water Association property, 2 miles east of Higginsport at 3818 U.S. Route 52. A viewing area, constructed by Brown County Rural Water with parking for 20 vehicles and picnic tables, provides excellent viewing opportunities. Binoculars and spotting scopes are recommended to aid in viewing. |
| Rocky Fork Lake – Highland County |
This nest is located at Rocky Fork State Park on the southwest shore of Rocky Fork Lake . The nest is located on the hill side above the wetland area. There is no boat acess to this part of the lake. The best place to observe this nest is from park office parking lot . Drive to the very back loop of the parking lot. Look across the wetland and the nest will be about 1/3 of the way up the bank. Spotting scopes or binoculars are highly recommended. (Download Map) |
