2012 UPDATE

The pied-billed grebe occurs throughout the state where wetlands have substantial open water.  They nest at all 5 viewing sites and use old muskrat feed beds as nest platforms.  The number of breeding pairs reported on the Ohio Marshbird Monitoring Survey indicates a variable population over the past decade.The pied-billed grebe occurs throughout the state where wetlands have substantial open water.  They nest at all 5 viewing sites and use old muskrat feed beds as nest platforms.  The number of breeding pairs reported on the Ohio Marshbird Monitoring Survey indicates a variable population over the past decade.
