ODNR Division of Wildlife - Hunting & Trapping - Waterfowl Hunter Survey

Ohio Waterfowl Hunter Survey

Background

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service provides guidelines every year to state wildlife agencies, like the Ohio Division of Wildlife, that must be followed when setting annual hunting seasons and bag limits for migratory game birds like ducks and geese.  Generally, Ohio is permitted to have regular duck and goose hunting seasons from early October to late January.  Early teal and goose seasons are special options that may be allowed but are not part of the regular waterfowl hunting seasons.

The Division of Wildlife strives to set hunting season dates, bag limits and related rules in a manner that is biologically sound and satisfying to the majority of waterfowl hunters.  Your input will enable us to accomplish this goal more effectively.
