Surplus Catfish Stocked Into Six Northeast Ohio Lakes
AKRON, OH - Approximately 24,000 surplus yearling channel catfish, averaging about nine inches, have been stocked into six northeast Ohio lakes according to the ODNR Division of Wildlife.
“Division of Wildlife hatcheries ended up with a surplus of yearling channel catfish which have been made available throughout the state. Within two years these fish should be providing substantial catches for local anglers,” says Fish Management Supervisor Phil Hillman.
Northeast Ohio Lakes Stocked:
Dale Walborn Reservoir – Stark County
Deer Creek – Stark County
Jefferson Lake - Jefferson County
Nimisila Reservoir – Summit County
Turkeyfoot Reservoir, Portage Lakes – Summit County
Zepernick Lake – Columbiana County
