MARK HEMMING NAMED MANAGER OF SOUTHEAST OHIO WILDLIFE DISTRICT
 
ATHENS, OH – Mark Hemming has been named District Manager of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife’s District Four which covers 19 southeast Ohio counties.
           
Hemming, 47, has served the Division of Wildlife for 27 years, most recently as the District Four Wildlife Management Supervisor.  He has also worked as the Assistant Wildlife Management Supervisor in District Four and as an Area Manager at Cooper Hollow Wildlife Area in JacksonCounty.  Hemming began his career at the Division of Wildlife in 1980 at Wolf Creek Wildlife Area in MorganCounty.
           
“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as District Manager for the Division of Wildlife,” said Hemming.
           
Hemming fills the vacancy left by the promotion of Jim Marshall to assistant chief of the Division of Wildlife last month.
           
Hemming’s duties as District Manager will include overseeing all district personnel matters and supervising the actions of the Fisheries, Wildlife, Law Enforcement, Field Operations, and Information & Education sections.  He will also serve as a representative to the Division’s Executive Planning Group and will be in close contact with southeast Ohio’s conservation organizations.
           
Hemming is a native Ohioan who grew up hunting and trapping with his dad and brothers in FranklinCounty. Hemming received his associates’ degree in wildlife management from HockingCollege and is a graduate of the certified public management course accredited through OhioUniversity. He resides in JacksonCounty with his wife, Robin, and daughter, Heidi.
