FINDLAY, OH – Approximately 280 ring-necked pheasants were released on Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area in northwest Ohio according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

FINDLAY, OH – Hunters who wish to continue to hunt deer in northwest Ohio are reminded the only the valid Deer permit has “Either Sex” printed on it.  The Deer permit is valid for the remainder of the archery season (through February 5, 2012), the deer gun weekend (December 17 and 18, 2011), and the statewide muzzleloader deer season (January 7 through January 10, 2012), according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife.  Antlerless deer permits ceased to be valid in Zones A and B on November 27, 2011, and Zone C on December 4, 2011.  Hunters who still possess an Antlerless Deer permit may only use it in an Urban Deer Unit or at an Ohio Division of Wildlife controlled deer hunt.

FINDLAY, OH – A male bobcat was recently caught in a trap in Williams County, Ohio according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife. Although known to exist in Ohio’s more heavily wooded southern counties, this is the first verified report of a bobcat in northwest Ohio.  Until now, all other reports have been unverifiable.

FINDLAY,OH – A Huron County man was found guilty of the illegal harvest of a deer that was taken in November of 2010.  Arlie Risner, 58, of Bellevue pled no contest and was found guilty in the Norwalk Municipal Court, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

FINDLAY, OH – The cases against seven Iowa residents, five Illinois residents, and one Missouri resident came to a close April 18, 2011.  A total of 22 walleye related charges were filed in the Ottawa Municipal Court.   The offenders all plead guilty and were found guilty by Court Magistrate Lou Wargo.  The total fines, court costs, and restitutions were $4900.

FINDLAY, OH – The case against six Williams County residents and two Michigan residents came to a close on November 10, 2010.  A total of 31 deer related charges were filed, including one felony, in Williams and Fulton Counties. The total fines and costs were $5,241.00.
