COLUMBUS, OH – Steady rains dampened the efforts of Ohio hunters on opening day of the 2007 deer-gun season. Hunters took 19,391 white-tailed deer on Monday, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The deer-gun season remains open through Sunday, December 2, and then reopens for two days on Saturday and Sunday, December 15-16.

ATHENS, OH – Some changes to southeast Ohio vendors acting as deer check stations have been made since the printing of the 2007-2008 Ohio Hunting and Trapping Regulation digest, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. AKRON, OH – A Spencer resident will not be participating in Ohio’s hunting opportunities for the next three years, following his conviction on multiple state wildlife violations. Brian Zoldock, 40, 7421 Firestone Road, was found guilty of four third-degree misdemeanors for illegally killing a deer on November 16.

COLUMBUS, OH - Young hunters across Ohio again enjoyed success during the Fifth Annual Youth Deer-Gun Season, held Saturday and Sunday, November 17-18. Hunters age 17 and under killed 10,515 deer during the special two-day season, created to provide a high-quality hunting experience for younger Ohioans. Last year's youth hunt saw a deer harvest of 8,811.

COLUMBUS, OH - For the fourth straight year, Ohio bow hunters set a record harvest during the first six weeks of the state’s deer-archery season, taking 53,982 whitetails.
