What To Look For
Wildwood's 460 acres is mostly wooded and supports a variety of forest species. Unusual species that have turned up include Kentucky, Mourning, and Worm-eating warblers. Summer Tanagers sometimes breed, as does Northern Parula and Yellow-throated Warbler. An unusual warbler was found in 2004 that appeared to be a hybrid between Northern Parula and Cerulean Warbler. The park's interpretative center features a "window on wildlife" allowing for comfortable feeder watching, especially in the winter. Pine Siskin, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Purple Finch, and other wintering species are possible.
