A Fall Harvest Wild Turkey Decoration & Feeder
Create a fall harvest wild turkey feeder that will please wildlife visitors and look great in your yard!
- Dried sunflower head
- 5 ears of corn
- Staghorn sumac branch
- 5, 4-inch deck screws
- Block of wood
- Bolt cutter
Cut block of wood to about the same size as your sunflower head. Curve the top of the block. Drill the deck screws into the top, curved part of the block. You only need to screw them in about ½ inch. Cut off the top of the screws with the bolt cutter. Impale the ears of corn onto the screws.
Next, punch holes into the sunflower head and use wire to secure the staghorn sumac branch. Arrange the branch to resemble the head and neck of the turkey. Use wire to gather sprigs of sorghum to create the turkey’s beard. Attach this to the staghorn sumac branch with wire.
Finally, attach the sunflower head to the block of wood using a screw or wire.
