Ohio Coastal Management Program

Coastal Grant Statistics

• The Ohio Coastal Management Program receives approximately $2 million annually from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
• This money is matched on a 1:1 basis with non-federal funds.
• Yearly, the ODNR Office of Coastal Management Awards approximately $1 million in grants to help carry out goals outlined in the Ohio Coastal Management Program.

• For all fiscal years:
  • 69.3 percent of grants ($26,642,355) were awarded for projects in a coastal county.
  • 5.4 percent of grants ($2,093,763) were awarded for projects in a specific county not adjacent to Lake Erie but in the watershed.
  • 25.3 percent of grants ($8,724,507) were awarded for projects that benefit more than one county within the Lake Erie Watershed including those adjacent to Lake Erie and those inland.
